Renowned gynaecologist Dr Konstantin Ridnõi now sees patients exclusively at Terena Clinic in Tallinn

Renowned gynaecologist and perinatal medicine expert Dr Konstantin Ridnõi has been seeing patients exclusively at Terena Clinic in Tallinn since July.

“In my scientific and everyday clinical work, I am dedicated to perinatal medicine. I specialise in the diagnosis of the fetus during pregnancy and have nearly 15 years of experience in fetal cardiac examinations,” said Dr Konstantin Ridnõi. “My long-term work in high-risk obstetrics has given me an overview of the organisation of perinatal medicine in Tallinn and across Estonia, including its strengths and challenges. I want to focus on providing patient-centred care and on the continued development of the field.”

According to Dr Ridnõi, obstetrics and gynaecology must be continuously developed, with the best available knowledge incorporated into clinical practice. “I have continuously advanced my expertise at leading perinatal medicine centres in England, Finland and the United States. I regularly participate in perinatal medicine conferences and seminars around the world. Gaining and sharing experience is extremely important in order to bring the best evidence-based practices to Estonia.”

Dr Konstantin Ridnõi participates in the development of national clinical guidelines in Estonia and is the head of the working group responsible for the latest guideline on prenatal diagnostics. Since 2014, he has been a member of the board of the Estonian Society of Gynaecologists. Dr Ridnõi defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Tartu in 2021.

Dr Ridnõi’s second area of professional interest is gynaecological endocrinology. “I welcome women who experience menstrual cycle disorders, difficulties conceiving, ovarian function disorders or symptoms associated with perimenopause. Together with the patient, we discuss the need for additional examinations and tests and develop an individual treatment plan.”

Dr Konstantin Ridnõi has previously worked at East Tallinn Central Hospital as a gynaecologist and senior physician in the prenatal department, as well as head of the prenatal diagnostics department. Until 2026, he served as Chief Physician and Head of the Pregnancy and Perinatal Centre at the Women’s Clinic of West Tallinn Central Hospital.
