11. September 2026
We are delighted to welcome physiotherapist Anastassija Mihhailova to our team. She has diverse clinical experience in rehabilitation, neurology, orthopaedics and traumatology, as well as pelvic floor physiotherapy.
In her work, Anastassija takes a holistic approach to each person, considering it important to understand not only the specific complaint but also its impact on the person’s everyday life, mobility and overall well-being. Her approach combines evidence-based knowledge, clinical experience and the individual needs of each patient. Open and trusting collaboration with the patient is particularly important to her, helping people better understand their bodies and actively contribute to their own recovery.
Anastassija’s professional experience is largely connected with Ida-Viru Central Hospital, where she worked as a physiotherapist in inpatient rehabilitation. She worked with neurological, orthopaedic and traumatological patients, supported recovery following surgical procedures, and treated a range of functional impairments. In addition to patient care, she also supervised physiotherapy students during their clinical placements.
An important part of Anastassija’s professional work is pelvic floor physiotherapy. She works with urological and gynaecological pelvic floor disorders and supports women during pregnancy and the postpartum recovery period. Her experience includes, among other areas, pelvic pain, urinary and faecal incontinence, constipation, diastasis and scar tissue management. Anastassija is also a lecturer at a childbirth and parenting school and a member of the Estonian Society of Pelvic Floor Disorders.
Anastassija values continuous professional development and actively expands her knowledge. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Physiotherapy at Tartu Health Care College. Through her studies and continuing education, she has deepened her knowledge in areas including pain management, the biopsychosocial approach to orthopaedic patients, diastasis, pelvic floor physiotherapy, manual therapy and counselling.
This year, Anastassija completed a clinical placement in Portugal at Fisiomato Clinic, gaining international experience in outpatient orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Her international experience and commitment to continuous professional development support her goal of providing patients with modern, evidence-based physiotherapy.
“For me, it is important to see the person as a whole and to understand not only their complaint but also how it affects their everyday life and goals. In my work, I combine evidence-based knowledge, clinical experience and an individual approach. I consider open and trusting communication essential so that people feel heard, understand their bodies better and, together with me, find the path forward that is right for them,” Anastassija explains her approach to patient care.
Anastassija speaks Estonian, Russian and English.
Outside of work, she enjoys movement and creativity. She practises dancing and yoga, plays the piano, paints and does handicrafts. She also enjoys travelling, discovering new places, spending time in nature and being with her family.
Welcome to our team, Anastassija!
